Neighborhood guide
Belmont (Charlotte).
Belmont is an in-town Charlotte neighborhood, not the town of Belmont in Gaston County twenty minutes west. It sits east of Optimist Park and Parkwood Avenue, south of NoDa and north of Plaza Midwood, a mile or two from Uptown. Streets of 1910s and 1920s mill-village houses are now mixed with new townhomes and single-family builds.

Where it is
Roughly bounded by Parkwood Avenue, Hawthorne Lane, the rail line and the edge of Villa Heights. The Little Sugar Creek Greenway is the western edge, which puts Optimist Hall and the Parkwood light-rail station within walking distance of much of the neighborhood.
What's here
Optimist Hall, the greenway, the light rail, and NoDa's restaurants and galleries a short walk or ride north. Plaza Midwood's Central Avenue is a few minutes south.
Is Belmont safe?
The same honest answer we give for Optimist Park: CMPD publishes citywide numbers, which are down in 2026, and no neighborhood-level statistic. Walk it in the evening and decide.
What's changing
Belmont has seen displacement as older homes sell to builders and new residents arrive; local reporting has covered it. We build here and we do not pretend otherwise. Our homes are priced well above the neighborhood's older housing stock, and we say so on the listing.
